Is there a writeup that shows how to mend the problem areas in a restoration project, in such a way, that the design would be better and not get the same rust in 5+ years?

Basically re-route sunroof drains if you have a sunroof. Thoroughly treat and paint hidden areas.

Or just chemically dip, galvanize, and epoxy paint the whole body and never drive in the rain or wash your car w/water.

depending on state of the car and how far it is taken apart, there are a lot of areas that you can't paint
I was pointed toward a 'cavity protector' by someone on here
He suggested, and I used a Wurth product, as far as I can tell there is one place in the US that sells it, nice guy though, something racing products...
If you look into this, be aware there are (at least) 2 types of these sprays, one is thick like wax, some are called wax, the other thin mist sort of like WD40
My thinking is the thin stuff is the way to go, you want it to coat areas you can not directly spray
My car was more or less rust free but there were some place where it had started, so I wanted to stop or slow as much as I could
The carpet was out so I drilled some small holes so I could spray the inner parts of the rocker area, pillars, inside the rear fender from inside the car, things like that

I personally think this a waste of time. Makes sense for a car that sees moderate rain but not worth the trouble otherwise. Also, there is the common misconception that the rear sunroof drains exit in the rocker (which they do not). All e9’s including slick tops have rear drains from the c-pillar to the rear rocker,
