Oldenzaal Classics "in-house" Air Conditioning kit

must be ... that is a weird piece of kit. might be good once its all hooked up, i just have no idea how you make all of the mechanical things work or if it deletes all of those controls and puts something in that looks out of place in a classic coupe. just wondering.

the oldenzaal evaporator looks more interesting, especially if its more efficient than the old stock one. do you mind showing us all sides of it?
 
these are the pictures from the evaporator unit - it looks like a plug-in version of the stock BEHR unit, 3D printed box and modern evaporator core and external TXV with routing for soft lines going around the unit.

I could not tell if it would be more efficient - although I have not had problems with efficiency of the stock unit or with Blinkling's modern upgrade. My impression is that evaporator does the job. Other impacting factors obviously are the usual suspects recommended for upgrade:
-parallel flow condenser (16x20)
-Sanden style compressor
-blower motor

what I do peculiarly miss with the E9 blower is additional air outlets as you would have with any later BMW, so I am considering of the E3 intermediate piece would offer an upgrade as it has the two holes for sode outlets. Pity is, you would need to cut holes in you dash sides to put in vents, which I am not keen on doing.

If anyone wants to upgrade their current AC, recommended course of action as above is well documented here in the forum, and also the modern evaporator core from Blinkling has a full write-up here.

is there a condensate drain? i checked to see if the e3 duct was basically the same as the e9 duct ... and its not. i thought about doing that as well ... but also didn't want to cut any holes. the only spot i could think of was to replace the speaker grille in the center of the dash.

good catch Scott I assume it is the clear tube coming from the side and going into the hole in the tranny tunnel
