Sorry to bring up a old thread, but can someone please share some info about the radio i have in my E9? I cannot find anything about the Blaupunkt Hamburg in a E9, and it also has some big "oem" looking speakers in the parcel shelf.
And what might it be worth? Building a race car, so don't really need a radio :)

It’s a mono radio with AM and no FM so not worth very much I’m afraid, does it work? Most common Hamburg was AM only.

It's a 1972/73 European Long wave and Medium wave Blaupunkt Hamburg radio. The bmw knobs and chrome levels are worth as much as the radio itself.

Ten years ago I unknowingly sold a set of those knobs on this forum for $50 and was told I let them go to cheap.
Save them for a proper Frankfort AM/FM

Car from 1975

It seems it was originally installed ... manual antenna is (at least something which has left from it) on the left front wing

Ed, I would have to agree. I put a Pioneer 4+4 deck in my `74 2002.

Yea... Blaupunkt in my 1973 2002 but enemic at best sound. In 1978 installed ADS / Braun 2002 speakers on their car mounts and Nakamichi 350 amp / cassette. Saw a similar application at Hardy & Beck on an E9 when suspension work was being done on my car. Crazy amazing German speakers and no cutting to fit. Had to have it!

Kinda like dual 40 DCOEs, porting, polishing, balancing, big valves, Mahle pistons, Carrillo rods, Schrick cams, Alpina suspension. In the 1970s BMWs were a great platform for building something truly great. Stereo included!!
