Paul Cain 3.8 csi web page

Could I add to the list, if they would be willing to contribute,
La Jolla
Coupe guy
Coupe king
Cole @ Salinas

I know these guys make a living from their expertise but you never know they might be happy to contribute.

Cheers. John
there is some great information from Carl Nelson in the tech info section that's been here for a long time - the 5 speed conversion right up for instance. perhaps it would be worth reminding people of this section ... not a lot of pix, but great information.

All,
thank you all for your kind words on the 3.8csi and site. It had been 14 years of paying hosting fees. Chris had mentioned the gracious offer to move it over.

I'm in the process of trying to locate the last host(er) and unlock it for transfer.

Hopefully soon.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Paul
Paul, i completely agree with the sentiment expressed by many. i miss your site, there is a lot of great information on it, and encouraged many of us to do an even better job bringing back our coupes. i hope you are able to get a transfer to e9coupe for posterity ... we will all contribute to this site to keep it alive with the rest of the invaluable info herein.

thanks for trying to make this happen

My vote for info that needs to be archived here has to include the PMB multi-part dissertation on brakes and rebuilding them.

Seldom do we get pro-level discussion like that... some exceptions apply.

Hint... I'd like to see a well documented megasquirt conversion... you know who you are, thanks very much!

If you made your living doing Megasquirt conversions you might think twice before giving away the recipe for the secret sauce, I know I would.

Chris, you got that right. We all need to be extremely happy with the wealth of information that our friend Don shares freely with us ... and if you do a search of all the different people that make a living working on BMWs of all types ... nobody shares near as much. if you look at the recommendations for sources that he gives us, and the technical advice ... its invaluable.

my advice to the group - we should take up a collection and buy Don several cases of good wine to enjoy during 2016. who else is on board?

rsporsche,

That's great, and very considerate - but wouldn't it be easier for someone in the bay area to coordinate a purchase? Obvously, we'd need a volunteer first!

i'm okay either way ... i buy wine on-line + also have sent wine to Don before + happy to do it again. if anybody in the bay area is interested ... please contact me offline.

Thanks for the kind words...
Carl is the model of helpfulness for me.
Always answering a question. Correctly!
Peter and Erik moving me into Casa Coupe King.
Chris Macha serving endless dinners.
And on and on.

I have helped several members with their Megasquirt installs. Drew and Benji have become friends over their installations.
An install sheet describing the parts needed and the install and tuning instructions will be a fairly large project. There are dozens of parts needed.
I will post the beginning of the parts to the test section.
Happy holidays?

rssporsche,

If I wasn't buried alive at work I'd volunteer. Since I am short on time and can't do it, I'm more than happy to donate to a great cause. Dons been there to help me numerous times.

I am in the Bay Area and can volunteer, what do I need to do?
Transport liquor to Don in small increments so his productivity does not suffer?

I would say rsporsche does the collection and I do the purchase and delivery.
That way we will have our operation fragmented into cells and Elliot Ness will never catch us.

Works?

I'll work with Paul to get his site content hosted here. I've also planned on redesigning this site to be responsive (mobile friendly) so I'll be working on the site anyway. I'll post to the forum for ideas when I start...

Dan

Great team - rsporsche and Arde.

Now, since only a few people may be following and reading THIS thread, I suggest one of the two of you start a new thread that will catch all members attention.

rsporsche, please send me your PayPal account name - PM is fine, or do you want to give other directions here publicly?

Cheers, and a big THANKS to Don for all he's done for members of this web site.
