I have these two steering wheels from an E9. One seems to be BMW Sport and the other one a Petri 838. BMW one is leather, Petri is urethane? Both need some tlc… located in Europe and I am open to offers.

So the one with the BMW horn button and leather is an e21 Sport Wheel. Not an expensive wheel, but functionally a great driving wheel.

The other wheel is very likely a BMW 2002 Turbo wheel. There should be a part number inside the hub that can confirm if it’s a real turbo wheel or not, but it’s also missing the center horn piece.

Both wheels fit on E9 - I tested. The hornlessone is definitley a Petri 838 as per logo and number on the back. It is “turbo style” yes as per this older topic: https://e9coupe.com/forum/threads/looking-for-info-on-this-steering-wheel.31195/

They do both have the same spline as e9, so yes correct they both do fit. However both would need a tinkering with the horn contact ring to work and fit properly.

The 2002 Turbo wheel came with both stampings on the back, the early wheels stamped 38 and the later wheels stamped 838. A quick look at the number inside the hub can confirm if it’s a turbo wheel or a just a regular Petri 838 wheel.

Both are very cool wheels either way, and look great in any vintage BMW. GLWS

I was able to find the number on the hub and it shows as a E10 steering wheel if I am correct

I checked - the Petri "2002 Turbo wheel" would also need the carbon pin + ring (available from BMW and Ebay) and center horn button (available from Ebay) as of now

Yep, that is the correct Turbo Steering Wheel part number. The hub would have has a carbon pin originally, but you could fit a contact ring to it instead to make it work with an e9.

I think it is not clear for the potential Forum Readers what is the purpose of this post.

Is it to advertise (i.e sell) or just to clarify technical topics?

Cheers
