Hi,

Can anybody give me the dimensions of the steel sleeve that goes into the rear shock top mount rubber? They are NLA and my car didn't have them when I bought it.

Cheers,

I made some of these not so long ago,
I remember that they were 25 mm long
and a tight fit in the rubber bush.
Hope this helps a little.

I came across this when installing new shocks and springs awhile ago. My car had 2 different sizes of spacers which became apparent when I was tightening the top nut. The difference in the way the rubber bushing looked smashed was my clue. I ended up using the longer one because it looked normally smashed vs really mashed too much if that makes sense. I believe the spacer is to limit how much you can tighten the nut compressing the rubber bushing correctly. Unfortunately I can't remember the exact length of the 2 (I believe one was about 1" which would be a hair more than the 25mm Dave mentioned.) I ended up using an old front sway bar link spacer that I cut down...seemed to be the right inner and outer diameter. I know DeQuincey did a good write up on changing all the bits and had a photo of some new ones...perhaps he kept the old ones and can give a measurement.
