I recently replaced the (single) dash speaker in my E9 with an Alpine SPS-406 that I found used on eBay (from a Porsche 944 apparently). The original had finally died...see below for pics of the hole, the speaker, and the final installation (I see now that I need also to replace the speaker cloth with something original-like soon).
At any rate, I suspect that someone is in the same boat as me and may be seeking a replacement speaker that fits in the space and works with the radio (mine is connected to the original Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio).
Since the speaker came with another as part of a pair, I'm happy to pass on the other one of the set to someone for the cost I paid ($42 including shipping). So, if you want a single speaker like the one pictured, it's yours for my cost of $21, plus whatever the shipping cost is to you in the US.
