Replica BMW 507 Help

Join the BMW CCCA Classic Car Club--The 2023 summer Newsletter has an article on how Dave Molnar is actually building a 507 Replica. He made a wood buck and created an aluminum body in the first episode.

and created an aluminum body
I think Dave chose to make a steel body as that is what he was familiar with. But the key here for me is a coach built metal body. Very cool - can't wait for the next installment. The article inspired me to get more metal work done on my coupe. :D

Great to hear it is moving forward.

Are you leading any blog or YT with your progress?
I'm pretty sure some of us here would like to see/learn and keep for you more. :)

Hi Tom,

thanks

I know it is hard to quote the item which was used in cars produces in 252 pieces total but maybe Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi guys, yes, that’s my car in the BMW Classic Car Club magazine! I just got done with paint, and the car is sitting in Federweiss waiting to be polished after wet sanding. It’s been quite a journey, for sure!

Yes, the body is made from 20ga steel instead of aluminum as that’s what I’m used to working with.

cheers

Oh, and those gauges. A fully restored set will not be cheap. Do you have an unrestored set, reproduction gauges, or restored set? A correctly restored original set will be around the $10,000USD mark.

cheers
