Restauration 3.0CS Automatik Baikal blue

Motor and front axle back in they're place.
Let's go to the rear.
Diff. fresh sealed. 3.45 S 25%
The half shaft looks like new, another proof for the low mileage from the car.
Only 71k mls when I bought it.

Unfortunately, I break the pin from there oil temp sensor.
But every mistake is a chance to try out new learns.
Instagram lesson: use a vac.
So I change the sensor in the full oil pan w/o any spill....
:) :)

After a while I will share a particular of success...
One side are finished.
The alignment of the windows are a nightmare. So much possibilities to align for trim and window.
Unfortunately, I still fighting with the clutch. As you guys remember, I convert from automatic to shift stick.
Also I searching a long time at a wiper issue. No intervall and no end position.
Bought the car with that issue.
After a long search, I figure out, that somebody before me interchanged 4 wires in the intervall switch. Crazy
...

Looking good! Must be amazing to bring her back to life.
Quick, but still you keep eye for a quality job.

Question; did you remove the paint colurtab in the driver dooropening? It looks so nicely painted around it, that I think you removed it. But the rivets look like new; did you place new rivets?

If so, Where did you source them?

For sure, I removed it.
There rivets just a standard item.
Found them at ebay.

2mm x 6mm rivets stainless steel.

Unfortunately, in the years bevor, somebody hammered the door stop pin in with less patience... so the plate has 3 extra scarfs.
But that are patina.
