From the text “was registered on 7th May 1975 and is thought to be one of the first in the UK market”. Surely they mean one of the last?

Boot lip doesn’t look good to me...but if sells at £40-50k with a reasonable £100k investment, then it’s not a bad buy surely?

Mine is numbered 0075. Interestingly built in Dec 73 but not registered until 1975 (hence it is a P Reg).

I’m assuming something similar with this car.

Does anyone know why the delay? Did BMW just take time to shop them? Or were the commissioners just slow. Or is it they just took time to sell?
 
I think they just took time to sell Michael, particularly in the UK ....apparently outrageously expensive in early 70's. There were 18 delivered to Australia direct from the factory and most likely to customer order via BMW in Melbourne ....probably a smattering to South Africa and Japan too.

Looks like the grill on the spoiler comes up in the middle preventing use of the center piece. They traded getting it close to body for the center piece. There's a world in which the 2-piece front might work, but I don't think this is it.
 
It’s also missing door ashtrays, trunk floor board over spare, tail panel vinyl cover, wheel arch covers, plastic covers for interior door handles, black under fender grilles, the hardest to find and most valuable tools, etc. How about black hood torsion bar and headlight doors? Some restoration.

100k is rather eye catching....

The vendor purchased the car in 2014 and almost immediately set about a considerable restoration project. The works started with an engine rebuild at Cotswold Cars. The car was then handed to restoration specialist, Justin Simmons at Pinkneys Green,Maidenhead for a comprehensive four year restoration, costing over £100,000. The file for KKJ 952N contains all invoices for the impressive amount of work undertaken. All the parts and panels used were either purchased from E9 specialists, Jaymic Ltd in the UK or Walloth and Nesch in Germany for original BMW classic parts. The file also contains a full photographic history of the works completed, from the bare metal respray to the fine example we see today.
 
I saw this also.... interesting car for sale and low reserve for the amount of money spent on it and the owner ran out of money ie
Ash trays missing
Front centre fibre glass bumper missing
In correct steering wheel
Miss match tool box etc etc
 
Just to add, I used to live in Pinkneys Green, between Maidenhead and Cookham in Berkshire - And I have never heard of the company quoted - Google turns up nothing too??!
