Under various discussions, folks have been showing their steering wheels so I thought it would be cool to have them under one heading, for future references too.

1. Original leather 38cm CSL Petri with long hub
2. 38cm Petri with leather wrap by master Alpina craftsman (has a new home/ owner)
3. 40cm Petri with foam wrap. Spokes were too far gone so I had it painted grey metallic. Soon to receive a leather wrap
4. 38cm BLACK Petri with foam wrap. Authentic and a very rare find
5. 37.5cm Momo Prototipo. The Prototipo lettering has peeled off over the years.

I personally like the original "csi sport wheel". But the horn button is a little boring so I took the e21/e24 sport wheel button and made a wooden adapter ring so it fits on the same metal plate and it (sort of) matches the dash wood. Still working on getting that closer.

Since Keshav is the man in Germany - I'll post up! :D

FWIW, I'm as much of a steering wheel hub and button fan as I am of the wheels themselves.

Dished 40cm Petri from an Audi Fox GTI - I have the horn ring but no button or hub. Interestingly enough this wheel came from the ABBA car. One can guess who I bought it from.

370mm Momo Prototipo circa mid 70's. Period correct silver ringed Momo button - This one is currently getting recovered in Europe. It's the litmus test for my Alpina wheel:

Edit: Restored!

Alpina 380mm Momo Prototipo, standard logo not stacked. No date places it in the mid 70's. Horn button is period correct silver ring - This one was recovered by Aardvark when I purchased. The wheel is currently in Europe pending recover

Factory "sport" wheel, came with my 2800 CS. I did a refresh on it but subsequently removed the cover. The chrome spoke caps need replating and I need to freshen up the underlying leather. I'm going to restitch this one myself also. I figure the leather won't budge in the process so it won't take any skill to execute:

390mm black spoke Nardi from 1982. This one is in my car. The horn button is a momo, from the 80's:

Momo small solid hub #152, larger solid hub #153, and collapsible hub #C157

Solid Nardi Hub - Although NLA - these aren't too difficult to find. Much easier than the solid Momo hubs.

Nardi Torino horn button - picked this up for $20 so why not:

You guys have impressive wheels - i am also steering wheel maniac. Love the look of your's 3-spoke Alpina's.
Here are some wheels i owned not so long ago and refurbished:
E21 Petri 38cm

Momo GT 33,5cm (funny thing it was mounted on my e9 when i purchased it).

E34 M-technic 38,5cm - when i bought that wheel it was in much worst condition than that 4-spoke Alpina listed above.

From all the wheels that were actually offered by BMW for the E9 throughout the production years, the 2 most outstanding wheels, for me personally, are the
38cm Petri/ leather wrap and 38cm Momo Alpina with their respective hubs.

I have a nardi wheel which I like a lot and paid a large premium to get the BMW emblem in the middle. However, the emblem looks cheap. Does this look right to you? I can take a better picture if needed

I agree that it looks cheap but sadly that is the button that Nardi has most readily available. There is another version with a larger roundel that looks much much better. I'm not sure if it is NLA or what, but I almost never see them for sale. There has been a used one on Ebay for a year or so for $150. I'm holding out for a used one that costs less.
