Sulphur Smell Need Help IDing

Recently finished refreshing my entire rear end, but an having a tough time now identifying an intense sulphur smell that is now present. Thought it might have been diff fluid leaking onto the hot exhaust but its all clean as a whistle with no signs is the diff leaking. Diff was refreshed with all new gaskets and seals. Any other thoughts...exhaust leak maybe???
It only seems to come on after about 15 to 20 or so mins of driving. Took it out for 2+ hours yesterday, no issues at all except for the smell.
 
Subframe and diff wouldn’t cause that. Exhaust paint is pretty stout too so I would not think it would be the cause either.
Could be cooking off something in the exhaust paint. Weird that it is a sulfur smell though... Maybe the Devil is following him around!!

I'm thinking it's an exhaust leak as I do have a band clamp holding two section of my exhaust together between the rez and the muffler. Previously had to cut it for another project months ago
 
I have heard an overcharged battery can cause this smell. Never heard of it in a Coupe, but apparently a faulty voltage regulator can affect the battery enough to produce sulphur smell. Not saying this is your issue, just something that has been recorded. Good luck and let us know. ;)

Interesting, I'll check battery health and smell once I let it run for a bit. Thanks for the lead

I've had this happen with a borrowed truck. The regulator went bad and was seriously overcharging the battery. It was very hot and the electrolyte was bubbling and smelled bad. Check the charging voltage, it could be very high.

This would make sense, since the battery is the only thing I know of that contains sulphur in any quantity

I had a Ferrari 330 GTC. Exact same problem. After 15-20 minutes the smell was unbearable and made my eyes tear. I literally couldn't drive the car. Turned out that the Fiberglass firewalll was burning from the exhaust because the heat shield had been left off. Was their any change in exhaust shielding on your car? Did you use actual exhaust paint? Not all high temp paints can really tolerate the heat of an exhaust. How far forward did you paint the exhaust? Manifolds and down pipe?
 
Think we have found the smoking gun. Looks to be a cooked battery. Ordering a voltage regulator today.
Is the battery toast or still usable?

I would use this as an excuse to buy a new one. At minimum you would need to pull off the cover/cap and add water or acid to top it off since the failed regulator likely boiled off a fair amount of fluid. If it got too low the plates will begin to short.

Just going for a new one, they are like $130-$150 at Costco.
 
Upon further inspection it appears that the brown wire at the back of the alternator was loose/off.
