We had an amazing day 2 on this year's Targa California drive. The highlight was definitely our track time at Laguna Seca! We had a good forty minutes which seemed much shorter, fortunately I had good friend Fred Larimer next to me coaching me on the proper lines in the corners. It's amazing how even sixty mph feels like ninety when negotiating the eleven turns and other cars are in front of and behind you. The corkscrew, turn 8, was everything I expected and then some. But turn 9 is such a large sweeping turn and so much faster that it gets your attention quickly and I think I had a death grip on the wheel the whole time. By the end I think I did fairly well on turns 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10, what a thrill but turn 2, the Andretti Hairpin is hard to master with two apexs. Fred shot a video with my iPhone, if I can figure out how to post I will add it.

Very cool! I've wanted to track my Coupe at Laguna, but I haven't done it yet. I'd love to see the video.

Turn 6 and 9 are the fun ones in my opinion.

Great to meet you on the Targa CA, Chris!

I agree, the track time at Laguna was a high point. Hope you had a safe drive back and I look forward to meeting again sometime.

Same here Tyler. What Tyler isn't mentioning is that he has a phenomenal Abarth 750 Zagato Double Bubble coupe. He was ahead of us a bit and was terrorizing the course!

Not sure, they tend to drive a bit faster but this year there is Porsche only event and one for All Others, probably a better choice!

green, I am...

Pretty jealous of that tour that you folks did...I'm sure it even more fun an hour later when you realized what you just did. Not exactly Targa/Laguna Seca, but headed to the Vintage in the mtns. north of Asheville tomorrow for some (sadly, damp..) fun. This is a job for the 02. Almost 500 early bmw's registered.
Love to see the video Chris, with sound we hope...

upload...

You'd be a better man than me...our daughter has a "I love you even though are ignorant" look when showing me things...(she's in her 40's)

I resized a photo taken at the track by a photo service. That is Gavin and good buddy Rey in Gavin's CSL.
