No Coupes, but nice weekend, regardless.

Good pictures, Ed. That last one is scary. Little car in a LOT of water. Not sure I'd do that in my truck, but know that I wouldn't in my 02. (Hope that they didn't find the body downstream.) Looks like a fabulous, dry day. I know there haven't been many down there recently.

That last one is scary.

We've been through this crossing many times before. Four 2002s went ahead of me and I was not concerned; though my car sits significantly lower than a standard 2002. The water is not rushing over that crossing, so the side forces are not significant. Central Texas is the flash-flood capital, it seems. We've had tremendous rains early in the month and flooding has been bad. This crossing has water over it much of the time, though.

I used to drive my jeep through water up to the hood from time to time (without a snorkel). The key is to follow behind the wake and not try to drive through it. This actually makes the water more shallow near the engine bay. Looks to me like the 2002 did this one just right. If you live in the southwest you probably aren't a stranger to driving through this kind of stuff. :)

I don’t have picture of the CSL going through the water from a couple years ago, but I’m sure it was pushing some water.

My ‘02 only has the stock, “duckbill”, but it is low...

You guys know how to have fun- and a lot of nice cars.
I loved all the Bauers ... and now I know why you go in October!
Great weather!

Glad you were able to make it, Don. Too bad about the miscommunication on the Saturday drive... I know you would have enjoyed it.
