That car looks a bit rough - every part is going to need to be redone - dash is cracked, seats are worn, paint is poor, etc. This is the problem that you’ll run into though, realistically you want this car for $10k for its bones and some of the basic bits - glass, switches, seat frames, interior panels, etc but you’re going to spend $50-60 making it good. The guy is not going to want to go that low so the car won’t sell. Easier for all when it’s a car that sells for $40 and is worth that, drivable, looks presentable but still some items for you to slowly work your way through. I suspect the BaT car will be in that $35-40k range but I am far from the expert, just that prices are down a bit now it seems. That type of vehicle is probably a better target for you, there aren’t many cars that are in the $15-20k range that actually seem worth it given the economics. We can all agree on what is a parts car/rolling shell, what is a really nice car and what is a solid car but one that needs work and usually price point seems clear on those. It’s the chasm between parts car and drivable that is often a hard one to negotiate, and that’s right where you have suggested putting yourself.
