Upgraded AC for our coupes?

BTW, I think Alan posted a drawing of the A/C transition piece so you can reproduce the un-obtainum piece

That's my wallet on the towel so must be mine!
And to think you once posted that you didn't think your coupe was photogenic, Steve! That snapshot Rob posted of your cabin has at least six things worthy of their own posting...and the CSL Petri is screen saver material. Absolutely beautiful.

and that is an older picture - the coco mats are now different. i have seen Steve's coupe up close and personal many times ... it is a fabulous example.

Well yes, but then Steve's idea of a good time is to grab a glass of wine and polish his brass expansion tank!

I agree with the posts above that you can use the stock evaporator and upgrade the compressor, condenser and fan and get very good results. The air in my car is ice cold, and while the center vent is not ideal it still moves a lot of air.

Comparatively my 1983 911SC with a fresh charge was useless for air conditioning...just a classic car point of reference, while my E60 has better air then my E9, the E9 is still pretty good.

I also posted a few years ago on window tint....some of the modern tints block lots of sun but aren't very dark. I even tinted my windshield and the benefit is noticeable.

Heater bypass makes a difference as does tunnel insulation....I still need to do those.

OK window tint. I have read what is on here, but wonder just what windows, members have tinted. Has anyone tinted just the huge back magnifying glass of a rear windshield? What does it look like? Or would this look incomplete. Should all side glass + the rear windscreen be done at the same time? Not looking for dark, perhaps a 50% like I have chosen on my DD 528iT. What have you done? Mike
