Hi everyone - any suggestions how to access the crank nut without removing the fan? Trying to turn the engine so I adjust the valves. Using starter motor currently but not very precise.
thanks everyone!

Pull plugs, put in neutral, put on a work glove, grab the alternator belt and rotate it clockwise. I’ve also done the 36mm socket on the nut but it’s a knuckle scraper to do so.
I thought "no tick"= too tight.
Btw for those searching valve adjustment and doing for the first time be careful tightening those eccentric bolts!! They strip easily and a broken $5 nut and bolt will render your engine useless… (well that’s what happened to me and now I have to wait 4 weeks for new ones to come from Germany…). Also while you can use regular feeler gauges, those 45degree bent ones are super handy.
i had to do the adjustment a few times to get rid of the ticking sound.
