This is how I solved the need for some extra engine surveillance. The basic idea was to make it as close to original instrument layout as possible. The gauges are angled in the same way as the main cluster even if it is located further down it helps the driver to get a better view of the situation. This is a car without AC and the console is almost vertical at this point unlike the ac version. The rounding of the ends makes it easier to angle the instruments towards the driver without the bottom of the bracket protruding outside the console.

What is a type/name of the veneer you have used?
 
It is French Walnut, a little piece that was left over after I re-veneered the other parts. The photo may give a wrong impression but it is exactly the same color/look as the rest of the veneer.
