Made some time to removed the front fender. Getting it of was really easy. But to put it together will take some more time. :-)
I will do the restoration a little bit different as the did it in the ‘90.

See the details: spotweld a plate in front of the “sh.t” , some kit and it is ready.

First wash since 2005 or so. Drained the coolant, pulled the carbs to get them rebuilt. Discovered plenty of air leaks as all of the Manifold nuts were hand tight and almost every vacuum line was broken somewhere or another. Also pulled the EGR stuff off and will have to plug/cap the Manifold. Things are coming along!

As one of the final things on my engine refresh, re-installed the wiper motor. Special thanks to Lance Sabouni for zinc coating them for me. That in the new rubber gasket really makes it look great. Before and after picture

Got the oil pan gasket and new motor mounts installed today...super stoked. Few more gaskets in diff, trans (no major leaks), just want to address it after that. Then front suspension and steering bushings, tie rods, steering arms, sway bar and links as well...

Oil pan gasket a bigger deal to replace than I thought, but worth it! Also replaced missing bolt/nut in exhaust hanger that was causing some knocking noise...no more knocking, nice and tight and buttoned up!

Finally got around to installing my new Coco Mats today. Was just lazy but tired of them sitting in the music room. I was very impressed with the quality. I had them in the Bav but just forgot how nice they are. Opted for the trunk mat too, very happy.

Next on the list is removing the sound protection on the hood, has anyone used this Sunnyside VM&P Naphtha on the paint? It was recommended by the makers of the sound protection to use. I will do a test spot of course. Was going to spray on with a regular water sprayer canister, use a plastic scraper like for using on windows or installing rubber etc. Scrape and remove old foam covering motor with vinyl and using painters tape.

I didn’t use any product when I replaced the hood insulation. The foam itself can be messy but comes off pretty easily. It’s the old glue underneath that is a pain. I just kept rolling little balls of the glue to pick up more and more glue (it sticks to itself like rolling a small snowball to make a snowman)

Replaced the old automatic antenna this weekend so while it was out I removed the fender well covers to inspect and vacuumed out about an inch of dirt out of the upper/inner fenders and then scoped them.
