What did you do to your E9 today?

Almost did a Mille Miglia. 900 miles in 25 hrs incl 7 hrs of sleep in a hotel in Germany. Drove the Turkis (I call my coupes by their colours) from Southern Sweden to Switzerland. It used just 3mm of oil on the dipstick, BUT when I pulled up to the last gas station I heard a terrible noise from the engine bay. I opened the lid, with the engine running and immediately suspected the water pump. I was a bit worried for the last half hour, and then got the stetoscope out once back home, and sure enough ´the noise is from the pump. Needs to be replaced. Don´t know how much longer it will last.
Lots of traffic and road works so didn´t go much above 90 MPH at any moment. With 2 small, folded towels between my lower back and the seats, it is quite comfortable. 3.45 and the 5 speed (OD on 5th, which most of my cars have), it is easy going and quite fast for a standard CSi. Not like the 3.5s of course but this car actually has a new engine from BMW, installed during the rebuild in CH a few years before I bought it in 2011. Has just 10.000 miles on the clock.
Lots of thumbs up on the Autobahn !!!

Added the Ceylon and a 66 Vette to the Sat am drive club:

Hustled it up a lovely river canyon in the Sierras for lunch. Enjoyed a nice romp with a Tilux, 2002, 911, and a Alpine 110.
A fine day.

On my way out of town I dropped off the 10 center slats of my new grill to the metal shop to have them anodized black.

Nice, I should do the same. You can only remove the slats a limited number of times to repaint them before the tabs start breaking off.

I finally have the 14" early Alpinas in and mounted with the Pirelli Cinturato CN36's. I brought them to a Porsche shop to be mounted and balanced and the owner took one look at the tires and said "where did you get these"? unaware of the reissue. Anyway, thanks to Michael B who promised me I'd have them for The Vintage, here is the finished product. Unreal.

That wheel/tire combination sure looks fantastic! Post some more photos when you have them on your car!

Not cheap, but not Michelin XWX territory. 199 Quid each delivered in 3 days. I love them. My car is on jack stands for final Vintage pre flight checks but am hoping to get them on and drive later today.

Where those tires expensive? They look super!

Those are some special rims in a special condition. Those older Alpina rims without the extra holes are very hard to come by and highly desired!
Congrats Steve

Thanks, I mounted and drove yesterday, the ride with the smaller rim and more tire is great, now I see why Carl N said the lowering springs, Bilsteins, and stock wheels are a good combo. The streets here are very bad and the difference in ride comfort is quite pronounced. I finished up the under car prep: checked and realigned the DS by adjusting the CSB with another washer, flushed the brake/clutch system and cavity waxed the fenders, front clip, and the "caves" (very messy job). Topped up the gearbox and diff fluids.

The pup likes.
