What should I do with my injectors

They get $ 75.00 each to rebuild with new plastic.

Okay
That seems reasonable
Should they be put to use then soon or would they be okay for 6 months to a year waiting for other work to be completed.
I had heard somewhere before that you should not leave injectors lying around too long, but they might have been ones that were cleaned and not rebuilt.

Barry - don't forget to include you 007 fuel pump (assuming you still have the original) as they aren't available any longer. FIC will rebuild and test along with your injectors.

FIC in Tracy California sells flow matched sets of new Fj118 injectors - brand new matched is the way to go....

Hi Don
I sent my injectors off to the uk for checking / servicing and I just got an email back to say that 2 injectors are leaking from the body and cannot be fixed and 4 more are seized and could be fixed but have NO guarantee that they will work effectively afterwards.
So I just sent a message to fuel injector corporation asking them if they have a set of 6 new injectors in stock for me.
Hopefully I will hear back soon and I can get one more step closer to getting a running car .
Thanks again for the recommendation of FIC .
The guys in the uk have successfully serviced my cold start injector and I have rebuilt the fuel pump myself and also made 2 new fuel lines and treated the tank to a POR15 fuel tank restoration, so once I get the new injectors that will be one more system off of the to do list.
Is there anything specific to 1974 3.0csi’s that I should mention when talking to them ?

Hi Don
The guys in the uk said my cold start was stuck but they have freed it out
So in theory it should be okay .( should I replace it anyway )
Are new ones still available ?
And what is the story with FI relays ?

Hi Don
Do you by any chance sell the injectors?
I messaged FIC yesterday and I have not got any reply.
Are they normally too busy to reply?
Or maybe I need to wait a while longer.

Hi Don
That sounds great
Thanks a million for the help
I used Rockauto FJ118 injectors , cost in Feb. 2022 was $56.79 ea, new. Working fine.
Hi Sean
Thanks for the info , did you get them flowmatched , and did they fit straight out of the box ?
I read somewhere that the ports might need to be reamed out slightly to take them , but I’m not sure if that is necessary or not .

I’ll call them today for you.
Hi Don
I just got a mail from Robert in FIC
and he recommended that I buy the rock auto fj118 injectors and send them onto FIC, they would then flow match them for me.
So before I actually jump,
I have 2 more questions ( just in case you are not busy enough)
1 is flow matching necessary on new out of the box fj118 injectors.
2 . I have now seen fj118 injectors for sale from rock auto and I have also seen fj118 injectors for sale at Walmart for about 20dollars less. Would the Walmart ones be the same quality ? ( apologies if that is a daft question )

They fitted without any modifications to the head / ports. I dont understand how they will be flow matched, there is no adjustment in the injector, its

a simple voltage operated valve. If you had a large selection, you could probably flow test them and and if there are differences, make sets.

Buy them from Summit and send them to FIC.

That's what I do.

Fellow forum members- I’m in 5 weeks now with pinched nerves in my neck. My right arm is too painful to type. See you in December.
