The annual Mountain Cruise my uncle (the 912) and I do with our sons brought us once again this year into South Tyrol/Northern Italy for a week of alpine roads and high mountain passes. We crossed Timmelsjoch/Passo del Rombo from Austria to Italy (2.509 m) and enjoyed Passo Falzarego, Pordoi, Sella, Carezza amongst others, spending more than 1.700 km on the road.

Thanks for the compliment. My triple Webers are getting such low MPG, I figured I could raise the average by putting miles on them with a flatbed.....
Seriously, I was driving 70 mph on I-95 to a BMWCCA chapter C&C Sunday morning when I lost all electrical power. The car coasted to a stop at a rare place where I was off the road. Three hours later the car is back in my garage. Details will follow. It is not too serious.

I took the twisty way back from working some ballgames in Windsor last Sunday.
i have driven on half of those roads at different times - Calistoga across the mountains to the left and from the Silverado Trail up the mountain to Lake Berryessa going to different vineyards. both are fabulous roads.
pre-1990 German car night at a local Austin hamburger joint called top-notch, They set up a little bar and sell beer at night for the get together… we had a good showing of BMWs… Ed Zinsmeyer brought his 67 Granada red CS…my son Kane’s Granada red 2002 with the rack.
