Thanks - I did, along with W&N, Maximillian, Ireland Engineering, Fritz's Bits, and many others. Alphonso Taylor has a used one, but hoping for a new one. I did find a set on Ebay Germany, but they no longer will ship to the US. The hunt continues.Did you try Rock Auto, have gotten a couple of sets for 2002's from them
Thanks, Rick
There is Cerakote which can be sprayed on with spray gun and air cured, I used it on my exhaust manifolds. The parts need to be blasted and then degreased but the end result looks great and is fairly solid. Just as an option that doesn't require an oven. If you're going to rattle can it you probably would want to do the blasting and degreasing anyways to get maximum adhesion. One pint should do it - the two exhaust manifolds used about half of the tester (4 oz) bottle. Thanks for the replies. I was able to purchase a new stock resonator and muffler from Germany with the help of a forum member based there. Had it shipped to him and he will repackage it and ship it to me at a very reasonable cost. Already had the stock down pipes I bought from the UK. My local exhaust shop wanted $1,500 for a stainless steel system from the downpipes back. Probably a reasonable cost, but much prefer the stock system.
I plan to paint the system with a high heat grey paint both for aesthetics and durability. Any recommendations on which paint? Like the Cerrokote but the process is too difficult. AASCO, my local powdercoating shop, which is excellent, gave me a price of $1.7K to coat it. Very reasonable I am sure, but not in the budget.
