Pretty sure you can still get Stahl headers.

For a stock motor, I would think 1 3/8" or 1 1/2" should good.

I believe they are 2" and from a general consensus I have heard on various forums. rob low end torque.. I think Teahead is right on mayne 1 5/8 at most. They won't do much for a stock motor and are, rather. eye candy

I am still struggling with @sfdon 's comment "if price is no object". $303 is about 1/4 or 1/5 the cost of a SS fabricated copy of the Stahl headers. These Schmiedmann are so pretty you could hang them on your wall as art.

It looks like from the pics that @sfdon attached that these headers will clear a contemporary AC compressor. Is that correct? The one from Fritz Bitz doesn't.

with the Stahl design, i am reminded about the test data from Korman and Jere Stahl - 1 3/8" for anything up to stage 2. 1 1/2" for stage 3 .... 1 5/8" for full race. before we did the group order (years ago), i spoke to Jere personally about this. he highly recommended ceramic coating on the headers. this is the diameter of the primary tube ... not the collector or transition to the main exhaust
