Oil pump: the hub mistery

Well, the original oil pump of my 3.0 CSi has definitely gone, so I bought a replacement oil pump part # 11411269550 which is said to be the correct one (and the only one on the catalog) and, indeed, the pump is basically the same of the old one

but

the new one has a splined shaft (where the hub should be) while the old one hasn't.
Has anyone ever had the same issue? Any clue?

Sounds like you need to order the oil pump gear and nut

Sr. dQ- can you help us out with pics of the 3 gears and when they get used?
This makes me frustrated!

Thanks!

Here they are: old (left, with the hub) vs. New

The hub can't be moved on the new one as the old one hasn't a spline.

There are 3 gears used in these engines (the big six)

1 is bolted on with 3 bolts. That's the early version

2 are splined and use a nut. These later 2 are divided again into big and small.
Big and small are actually also early and later.

3 gears:

Early...bolt on

appreciations and blessings to you

an additional point to comment is that depending on your engine oil bottom cover, newer versions of the oil pump will interfere with the cover

the swamp in old pumps is a flat grille, but new versions have an additional cylindrical cover with an uncentered 1" hole, be aware of that because you might be unable to put the bottom cover, there is a 10mm interference thus you should cut the additional cylindrical cover of the oil pump swamp

(i know, it is diffciult to explain but i dont have a picture,

blame on dQ again...)
