went to see bill
addressed the fact that he gave me no scope of work or cost involved to do it
he just started saying about what needed too be done
set lifters add keyway to alt shaft etc.
he didnt get it
so im off to court
other option is sell it the way it is
my wifes statement
-it is worth north of a hundred every darn piece in the car is brand new literally except
the carper and door panels.
comments welcome

if i pay the guy i still have another 3k to finish somewhere else
so as it stands im being held for the 6k which i will try to
defer from a court as i was never given a scope of work or costs to do it.

OMG.. what a story. Forget the (race ) S38 and use a good M30... even with carbs… simple and good.
Don't ask me how i know. :)

I drove 1 year rallys ( 2014) with a S38B38 in it but only had 280 HP and no real torque below 4000 revs…. untill we discovered we needed a signal from the rear axle that the car is running at speed.... as in the M5's.... there is a company here that makes a box that simulates this…. we tried 2 boxes, all went bad.... so no end .. got a M30 and problem free happy again for already 4 years !

thanks its not that
the engine and all is dialed in perfectly
it was just the wiring of the links controller that he was supposed to configure
yet he proceeded to do a great job of checking every single wire and connection
which did need to be confirmed and repaired.
it just wasnt given the scope or cost.
i secured this from an old man that passed away and this was his last piece of engineerring marvel
so i had to have it.
ill get it squared in cort
he messed up by not giving me a proposal
this one has over 300 hp

I thought you built the car from the ground up. Did not realize until now you bought someone's unfinished project.

I hope the car gets sorted. I empathize with your situation and hope for an amicable solution.

Alan, thanks for sharing all of this with us. It's very unfortunate, but I appreciate all of this info being shared and ALL of us learning from it.

i have to say....
this has been a wonderful experience rebuilding this car and it wouldnt have been much of anything without this website.
to be able to share all my thoughts and to be able to post pics of my tasks
was really half the fun literally.
i would be working and think oh boy i take pics and show what im doing.
of all the auto forums out there this is by far the best ever done.!!!
the fonts the layout the easiness of moving around the categories
its just super wonderful and fun
thank you for all your work making it and keeping it up
and make sure you donate a few bucks and its so worth it.
thansk all
alan
