Looks like the CSL at Copart was RNM. May be listed again later. That dumb "non-repairable" title was a deal breaker. If it had a salvage title it would have easily sold for lot more.

It looks good. Says automatic but it is not. Very few E24 M6 automatics I think.

yep, it has the 76 'shield' hood and the rear gas flap (instead of on the side)
It probably shipped with the thermal reactor instead of a CAT. My friend's 1979 733i still had the thermal reactor when he bought it a few years ago. I've heard they tend to warp the head. I wonder if this one still has its reactor in place. California was pretty strict about keeping all the emissions equipment in place.
i don't think any e12 had a CAT.

My 79 528i had a CAT.
i could be wrong, but i don't remember it having one.
