Copart BMW finds...

originally a tundra car. no previous record in the ancestry project. looks like its all there, just very dirty. if this car could be bought for a very reasonable amount it might be worthwhile. hard to tell from the pics, but a repaint is in order

If it was newer paint, I would say it is Speed Gelb (e.g., M4 Competition color).
But it probably is Dakar Yellow, especially used in the E36 series as an Individual color (mainly M3)?

Here's a '73 2002 that looks pretty good.. passenger side hood damage...
not so sure about that damage - in one pic it wasn't closed all the way. looks like a pretty nice car overall. that's a replacement VIN tag - 2583281, and the rear tag says 2002 ti. very curious about this car - looks interesting, the gauges say Alpina, but i don't know enough about the different 2002 Alpina cars, other than most were made as kits

Is this the real deal???? It does look like it. It's in the right serial number range, 2275001 to 2275429 for CSL's I'm seeing the correct seats and steering wheel, wind up windows and cloth inserts in the seats, no sound deadening material on the front fenders and hood pins, no hood latching mechanism and a prop rod with no hood springs, plastic black rear bumper, Hard to think that something like this would end up on Copart as a total unless the damage was really extensive and this doesn't look all that bad unless the body is bent in the middle somewhere. OTOH the vin plate looks a little fishy, the numbers are not evenly stamped in depth and position and the numbers for the weights, while numerically correct aren't the same printed number, they're stamped and also don't look factory. On further investigation, the plate looks to be a reproduction.
