Sounds good. LMK what I owe you.
If you have an uncoated one and want to send that to me then I’ll coat that one for the next person. I’ll message you with shipping cost, so you just basically pay the shipping of yours to me and mine to you, I suspect that will be about $25-30

Today I took the longest road trip thus far - at least 450 miles - from Tualatin, OR up to Woodinville, WA and back to attend the Wundercar Social. John (JMinPDX) and I caravaned up to represent Oregon.

Great event, well-executed (thanks, Kyle!). I met some awesome new friends and the car performed wonderfully. Clicked over 78,000 miles on the way up and the rain stayed away (wipers not presently installed).

My evaporator held pressure for a few days so I went ahead and put the dash back together after fixing the clock, putting led bulbs in the instruments, and replacing the dead radio with a retro sound unit:

Of course I immediately went to work taking apart the rest of the AC system since the condenser did not hold pressure:

I have to say working on a car that is mostly made from metal is a nice break from constantly cracking plastic bits on modern BMWs!

I feel like I'm in an alternate dimension - I don't have an AC car but mine is Polaris silver and I have the same garage floor and ramps. Double-take!

Went to a place nearby Oberhausen in Germany were a guy had an old barn full of BMW and Opel stuff
Great to see what people collect over the years and let’s say, somewhat sorted between the ivy plant coming through the roof sealing which also gave some natural lightning!
Found some good and reasonable priced parts like a blinker glass, the round bracket/shield for the heater outlet tubes on the engine side and the left and right turn mechanisms for the triangle windows!

Tackled the dreaded dash directional indicator light only flashing once or twice while the exterior directional lights flashed just fine. After replacing all bulbs(non LEDs), cleaning all contacts including the proper fuse I would still get the intermittent flashing indicator light. I’ve had the EL13 flasher relay for years. Picked up a generic headlight pigtail and it’s plug and play.
Problem solved.

thats possible / probable, but it can also come from several things in addition to the O ring.
1. the fuel line needs to be replaced
2. the vent line going from the filler to the canister is cracked
3. the hose on the filler to the tank is cracked
While waiting for my hoses to arrive for my new ac condenser I finally got around to replacing the last two original hoses in the trunk. After it airs out for a couple days I’ll see if that’s all or if I need to dig into the filler…

I got the AC working for about half an hour!
Blew cold air after putting everything together and charging but after sitting for an hour to debug the oil pressure idiot light now the compressor doesn’t want to engage. Low and high side pressure are equal at 85psi at about 80F so maybe the expansion valve is bad but then why did it ever work? Maybe a bad connection somewhere…
I did never see the pusher fan in front of the compressor come on, so perhaps I simply reconnected something incorrectly when I put the dash back together...
As for the oil pressure switch, the wire to it is 0V so I think it's shorted somewhere...
So much fun!

Ok, the led bulb I put in the oil pressure cluster was shorting its ground to the shell so a wrap of tape fixed that.
The temperature switch seems to have died so a new one is on the way and this odd inline fuse passes 13V to the aux fan relay until you actually activate the relay, then it drops to 0. Neat, but I think it’s time for a modern one since my meter only shows 8A draw to my new fan
