Upgrading from Dual Weber 32/36s to Triple 40 DCOEs – What else do I need?

My adult legos arrived. Time for some rebuild fun on the triples.

Cast your vote. Polished or tarnished for the fuel filter and top cover?

For the wing nut top cover, the brass plating had mostly worn off so it was either polish to a nice shine or leave it looking like a crappy version of one on the right. Felt like I didn't have a choice since im not replatting. I do like the shiny polished brass look for the fuel filter cap though.

Mixed-length stacks might result in an interesting tuning experience. :)

Stack length impacts fuel delivery. If they're different across cylinders, fuel will be drawn from the carburetor at a different strength and at a different time for a given RPM & throttle position.

Practically, it's not the end of the world, and you can probably fudge things to make it run well enough. Just something to keep in mind if you have trouble getting things to run well.

That’s what I was thinking. The stack length affects the air flow at different rpms, and thus the amount of air fuel mixture goes into that cylinder. Which means the middle two cylinders will have slightly lower low end torque, and the outer swill have slightly lower high end power. These stacks are not radically different, so it may not matter. These stacks key measure is the distance between the trumpet mouth and the valve, which is about 8 inches or so, so a 1/2 inch difference only represents about 6%

Guys - couple questions as I am in the last stage of my planning of this project. Regarding the existing EVAP system, can this pretty much all be removed with the exception of the fuel filler neck vent tube? Was thinking I could vent that to atmosphere through one of the holes already at the bottom of the trunk?

To be removed would be the charcoal canister, its lines in and out to the metal collector and line running under the block towards the passenger side then a long the length of the car (inside the cabin I believe) to the trunk, where the plastic reservoir lives and the line from the resevoir to the filler neck.
All of that replaced only by a new line from the filler next to outside of the car.

LMK if this is an accurate assumption or I've made an ass of myself and asking for a vapor lock or bad fuel smell situation.

here are some pics of the lines I'm referring to.

My 635 has a vapor recovery tank, which sits next to the fuel filler. It is vented to the outside. I don't get any fuel smells. I suppose you could vent it through a small charcoal filter.

One like this i suppose could work if i can find the smallest one possible

My engine has all of the evap system removed, including the plastic tank and bracket in the trunk. That was only installed in the USA cars. Let me know if you need the mesh screens for your trumpets. Here's a pic of the screens next to the big brake booster.
