i saw the baikal coupe in atlanta

guys,

i have very good things to report overall on this coupe.
body / exterior trim
- paint is excellent overall (1 small blemish)
- bumpers - chrome is excellent / correct overriders / rubber is very good
- belt trim is excellent
- glass is very good - i would replace gaskets at some point
- polished trim is very good overall except passenger upper door trim
- front grilles - excellent
- fender grilles - in very good shape, i think they need to be removed + reinstalled
- hood grilles - passenger side has one broken piece / finish looks like it has been painted
- wiper arms (drivers side is correct / passenger is not - blade holders are not silver)
- tail lights - excellent lenses, chrome is very good (some very minor pitting)
- wheels (coupeking alloys), excellent shape - 1 minor chip (needs correct capped wheel nuts)
- panel gaps - all operable panels (hood / doors / trunk lid are in great shape, but panel joints are not consistent - everything just needs to be adjusted
- sunroof - overall excellent shape (needs gasket replaced)
- mirrors (flag - excellent shape)
- exhaust - excellent stainless - sounds great (coupeking i think)
- fender lips have been rolled
- shocks (bilstein)
- springs (appear to be carl nelson lowering springs)

baikal coupe (continued)

hood
- head light access panels have new white screws
- metal coolant reservoir
- excellent white wiper reservoir
- i need to look at the tops of my inner fenders to compare the proper install
- everything else appears correct

trunk
- spare tire well (perfect)
- rear trunk panel (very good shape)
- trunk floor panels (very good overall)
- underside of trunk lid panels - very good
- tool box (missing tools /.box should be replaced)
- rear tire well covers - very good overall (one small trauma)
- carpet (has been replaced - color is much darker than original)

engine / drivetrain
- appears to be an m90 - i understand from Don that it has a schrick 284 and motronic 1.3 injection
- engine runs very smooth
- i understand the tranny is a 5 speed - i didn't drive it to test clutch or verify 5 speed
- i did not verify that it was a LSD tranny - i believe it is a 374 LSD

baikal coupe (further continuation)

interior
- very good impression overall
- seats are comfortable, seats need to be worked over by somebody who knows how to get the right tucks
- dash (has been recovered) - not perfectly done, but looks good
- wood - very nice glossy wood, one minor trauma on rear passenger side.
- console - perfect condition
- carpet - excellent condition (non-standard color - darker)
- door panels - very good overall (no speaker holes) - minor damage to the lower panels from the seatbelts

conclusions-

this is not a concours car (condition 1), but it is a very presentable coupe that is pretty. it only needs some minor love and adjustment. if you are looking for better than a very good driver ... this is a car that you should consider.

its not my car to sell, so Chris hadn't formulated that number ... i gave him my thoughts which he may or may not follow. its not going to be inexpensive
