Starting to build her all back up!
Not happy with my brand new arch tub. 5 of 6 spot welds on the top mount have failed when I lowered the car off the jack...

My brother has restored a T reg mk1, the 4th GTi imported into the UK by all accounts, and he's got a fair few nos parts left over and a few nice BBS spoilers and zender body kit bits left over, so let me know if you need owt. We're only in nottingham.
Touch more progress. Fitting trims, decals, arch spats. Door seals all installed and made a start on the headlining. Sunroof mechanism all built up, got to finish the headlining off before any more work gets done around the roof area though and the glass can go in. Random metal pieces all getting sandblasted then coated in bilt hamber electrox zinc primer before painting - about 8kg/l as it is basically zinc suspended in solvent - highly recommended!

Next up is to finish the headlining, get the rest of the glass in and line the panels up, then engine and gearbox rebuild!
Powersprint Group A system fitted
Shrick Cam Cover Painted, almost finished up
Strip down showed a coolant leak in cyl. 3 and oil pump blockage
New head vapour blasted
Gasflowed with larger valves getting fitted
Front seats retrimmed in original GTI red stripe cloth.
Engine in and somewhat assembled
Bonnet is coming along well
Looking like a car once more!
