did you mean zinc plating rather than anodized?
if you meant anodized, instead, clear ceramic
I have been told that anodizing might not come out consistent
My brother has the same car as yours, a 67 with Euro lights

Cutting big holes in the body was a bit unnerving, but we took our time to fit the new panel perfectly. The stitch welds didn't warp the panels hardly at all.

Will grind it in the morning... and keep moving. Other side will be easier with smaller patches.

Thanks, Steve. The patches are getting smaller and easier to complete. I'm anxious to get it off the lift, blasted, and into the paint shop.

Another busy day.... put Papa to work cleaning chrome/trim. Barney and I tackled the passenger side patches. The original panel was much cleaner/straighter than the driver's side and the new patch looks awesome. It welded up beautifully.

Greg stopped by with his cherry '75 02. He's been wanting to change the starter for some time. We wrapped that up under the lights and the car starts instantly now. Nice.

We also changed the water pump in Barney's blue 02. Was a busy day while Papa supervised.

Passenger front floor had a few holes. I didn't want to shell out for a whole new pan but had just enough leftover from the other pan with the ribs to make two pieces into one that matched up very well. Barney put the beads down and it looks great. I'll clean up the drain plugs and glop sealant and fit them back.

We are really down to the small stuff now. One door corner and some minor holes and I think we are done making sparks. After about 4 rolls of wire, Barney has really become good at this welding business

edit...photos still aren't aren't loading, s o I robbed these from my FAQ thread. :(

I have a media blaster lined up but he can't get to the car straight away. We started on removing paint from the easy sections with nylon woven discs. They wear pretty quickly so we only got a couple of panels done. Still... moving forward.

Removing the paint from the easy-to-get-to areas revealed plenty about the condition of the steel of the car. Lots of little dents and areas of filler I can't explain... I also found one last area of rust. The driver's side rear fender where the panel is spot welded to the trunk floor. The rear bumper lays over top of this area. So, I broke out the slitting disc, removed the cancer, cut a new piece and welded it up.

Weird reflection in this finished picture... complex curves

Trailered it to the media blaster today. Hope to have it done and in the paint booth for primer on Friday.

Another big day. After some delays, the car is out of the media blaster and to the paint shop. It took some effort to blow out and shop vac all the residual media, but it's pretty clean now.

The front wheel wells are in superb condition... :)

The car looks very good and my body/paint guy is pleased with our metal work and the overall condition of the car. It's resting in the collapsible indoor paint booth for the evening.

Been a busy 10 days! Mitch is not one to let a project languish... The car was epoxy primed and Lizard Skin sound deadener was applied to the floors and ceiling early last week. Dents and welded repair sections were hammered out, filled and smoothed. Mitch primed the car this morning with 4 coats of Super Build primer. Many hours of block sanding ahead, but lots achieved in a short amount of time!
