They are old Weds Bavaria with 10 inch wide barrels regretfully I'm struggling to get barrels that fit the front .

The company below will have lips and barrels they fit Weds. They are in NZ though. If you want to spin your own lips and barrels shoot me a PM. There is a shop in AZ that is quite reasonable.

That’s what I thought, they look killer!

I widened my 14” rears a few years ago.

One of the last things I needed to do before loading the Bavaria up to the Cage builder was to mount the new throttle assembly . The ITBs are cable operated which wouldn't work with the rod operated older BMW throttles . I got an E36 cable and pedal assembly and made this bracket to hold the assembly 171275396_2934666783523771_5879036229758057756_n.jpg166269681_2924189984571451_8049799081271789923_n.jpg154633797_2902313453425771_534487191742232794_n.jpg154371672_2902313313425785_4938520624946898816_n.jpg

Continuing with the Cage update / rebuild . One of my main objectives with the new cage is to tie in to the diff mount . Any one who has driven an old BMW (pre 82 especially ) hard (or in my case abusively ) knows how easy it is to rip the dif mount right out of the trunk . We made a solid diff mount and tied the cage in to that mount . Had new seat mounts made . The fuel cell had been mounted high up in the trunk , so I removed the old cell mounting and cur out the entire trunk , The Guys at Blue Maxx Made a new trunk floor with the fuel cell mounting to lower the cell

Looking great! I must resist temptation to 'racer-out' my E3! I hope my son doesn't see this thread while he plays with it over his summer break ;)

It seams like its the small tedious things that add up and take time to complete long term projects , Trail and error involved to find a throttle cable to operate the ITBs
also got a pic of the exhaust that Blue maxx made for me, headers to ay pipe single 3 inch pipe to a magnaflow muffler

To meet the demands of racing with modern cars
I know pretty much nothing about BMW CR, but I did skim the rules over coffee today. What I saw seemed to suggest brake modifications are “free” as are many other changes.

Regardless, it seems hopeless to build a Bavaria which can successfully against much newer sedans (E39, E70, F07…) that have better aerodynamics, better chassis, much more sophisticated suspensions and relatively speaking gigantic wheels/tires and brakes.
Super impressive car build.
