Obviously, the seats need re-upholstery, but the carpet set is new, the dash is exceptional with no cracks or cuts, and the door cards front and rear are perfect.
That's if he keeps the interior blue... wood is easy enough and the headliner will need replacement. So Interior, maybe $3K or so. Re-do the brown? Double+ that.
Instruments are clean, clock is non-op. Exterior trim is nice, but I'd refinish it, so $1200 there. Bumpers are very nice, no pitting or spots. Rub strips/over-riders also.
Included is a ding-free front center. All glass is original and scratch/fog free. All the rubber is included, a significant expense.
Mechanically, it needs nothing if he keeps the slushbox. No leaks, no smoke, a typical M30 that has received regular service. Carbs were rebuilt 6 years ago.
Brakes and suspension are fine, no squeaks, new Bilsteins a couple of years after we got it, brake pads are new, Detail the engine, powdercoat the suspension
bits and call it done. Let's say another grand.
Paint and body will be the big expense. From experience, $30-40K would do it with the steel supplied.
All in, a nice example finished for +/- $80,000. For a DIYer, a good bit less. If I wasn't buried in two other significant cars, I'd have kept it.
