Best way to sell e9 these days?

best place to see the firewall is to open both gloveboxes and see what is there. what tends to happen is the windshield gasket leaks and the water goes down the inside of the firewall and it rusts from the inside. the alternative thing that affects the lower fender in front of the door is trapped dirt / water behind the front wheel.
Yes, when I imported the car '85, it had a new paint job that hid, but did not fix, rust in that lower fender area. After some Bay Area rain, a sizeable rust spot appeared. New metal was welded in and the car received its current paint job in '91.

I just checked and saw some minor evidence of rust behind the 2 "glove boxes." I recall that in '85, during the conversion process to US standards, we met with a trusted body man who looked at the car with an eye to rust intrusion. His verdict was the car was worth keeping since the rust was not extensive enough to warrent a panic sale. On the bright side, rust needs moisture to grow and the car doesn't get a lot of exposure to moisture.

Here's a view into the glove box.

Here's a look at the driver side:

not as bad as i was expecting ... in reality its pretty good. especially on the drivers side. this tells me the issue was probably moisture trapped behind the front wheel (in the drivers wheel well).
Yes, after seeing the drivers wheel well we were worried there could more hidden rust, such as inside the door panels, etc. But we decided the best bet was to keep the car since the rest of it wasn't bad.
