Nice set of accessories books Lorenzo !

As I understand most of you are "those days" nostalgics, I' m posting here 2 books, every fan should have. Date : 1972-1974, as buildings were finished in 1972.

The first one (left) presents the "new house" (4-cylinder building + Museum).
It depicts the genesis of the building and how the staff were installed (square furnitures in a round building) .
You will appreciate the "technology" and the "ambiance" of that time...
This book was still for sale at the BMW Museum (overstock), a few years ago.

First drawings

Latest technologies

Museum building first sets.

4-cylinder building

Staff installation, cafeteria is on the same "inspiration"

A booklet concerning the "new Museum" is provided.

The 2nd one (right) was the guide at the opening of the "new" museum and (a friends' info) offered to EVERY visitor (at the beginning).
But this did not last , as book is 29 X 29 cms and 2 cms thick (Quite costy to edit).
Then you had to pay for it and one day, it disappeared.

Plastic "optic effect"

BMW 801 "éclaté".

Kids drawing.

BMW stickers

Those 2 books can be found on the net, but be carefull with the latter. It has to be complete .
3 transparents -detachable sheets (1 visual effect logo -1 "éclaté" of BMW 14-CYL. 801-1 hard plastic for kids drawing a BMW 320-1936 and one page with BMW stickers).

Keep looking and check.
More over bound was so poor that guides with "hundreds of detachable sheets" and therefore incomplete are not scarce...

Handbooks.

That is how it started 30 years ago.
I was 28 and bought my E9 for my 28 th birth day.
She was -at that time - "normally" corroded and everything was OK.
Except the handbook in french, that I could not find. Why ? maybe a french or international habit, making a seller always keeping the H/B of the car he sells.
The task was hard as numbers were small

By the way, if you're about to buy one of the 8 "french-origin CSl"...be carefull.

So I sought and bought everything ressembling to an old BMW drivers' book...
Here are more than I 've already shared.
All are originals.

Additional brochures including 2.5 CS, early "real" cabriolet and Baur ones.

Service books + different cars climatisation add. brochure.

Z1 + 850 CSi + M 635 CSi...and the three different E9 H/B I know.

Finally, D and L-Jetronic book settings.

The question is , did I finally got it ?
Yes, 2 or 3 years ago,....
Did it stop me buying BMW related items ?

NO !
(....and more to come.)

Marc.

at a time of no internet..

I found this book this morning and I thought it would be nice to share...

The problem:

You're in 1974 in Federal Republic of Germany and you're in deep problem with your E9.
You forgot your iphone at home, and moreover it's bank holiday...

The solution:

You have the BMW Notdienst book ("NOT" in german means "between emergency and distress")
How does it work ?
1/ Check the date.
2/Check chapter.
3/Find the nearest opened concession.
4/Contact with datas.

If you're stuck in "Scharwzwald" with your beauty at night, the bitter part could be "how to find a telephone ?"

But I'm sure this is the matter of the 2nd volume, I haven't got yet....

A plus, compared with the usual dealers guide of so many companies.....

Alpina!

A nice photo of Manfred Jantke (Porsche Motorsport) and Jochen Neerpasch ( BMW Motorsport) at Le Mans in 1976. Neerpasch is wearing the amazing Motorsport jacket.
And the Alpina deko set brochure from 1980, another cool jacket is shown in the last page, I want one!
