Chicane wins

This is all a great shame and like other threads I have seen on other forums it's got a little out of hand, for the record with regards to the original post which started the argument I'm with Chicane.
As a true lover of these cars I think its a shame when I see another one being broken up and so I would always be in favour of restoration, I for example could not afford to buy my own car in the condition to which I have restored/modified it I do however posses ( in my opinion at least) the skill to do the work my self and therefore posses a car which otherwise would be out of my reach financially. Having said that there were parts that I needed for my car which if it weren't for someone parting out another I wouldn't have been able to obtain.
I'm not going to side with either party in this instance but what I do have to say is this: In normal day to day life when we have a conversation tone of voice informs us of the other persons feelings (anger or happiness etc) on internet forums tone of voice is non evident and so our minds substitute it with choice of words.
Chicane PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE FOLLOWING PESONALLY it is used purely as an example to demonstrate the point I have made above ,I am sure others have done the same to you.
(paraphrased) "I am still waiting for the adults to reply to my original 4 points."
By using the word "adults" in a negative context implies a belief in your opinion that they are not adults. Weather the implication was intentional or not it is there all the same and therefore the argument is perpetuated and escalated to the next level.

This is a good forum where people come to seek advice and have friendly banter about these wonderfull cars, lets not lose sight of that. We are all adults would it not be a lot easier to agree to disagree?

So once again I say CHOICE OF WORDS GENTLEMEN, lets keep it friendly.
Please.

Thanks gazzol. The only reason I used the term "adults" was, as you may have read from the earlier posts, folks resorting to personal attacks, calling me names and such. So, I asked that those folks respond as adults.

I think the salient point here is that it's not just a couple people that bristle at your comments. I haven't counted but it seems there are an awful lot of people who you've managed to offend or disrespect. If this were a real life forum I'd expect you'd be awfully lonely, sitting alone with perhaps one or two others. In the democracy that is the internet, however, we're all forced to listen to each other, at least to some extent. True, we can ignore posts from those that offend, and perhaps those of us that don't like your tone should do just that.

You also may find it amusing that one of the great scions of E9s, Carl Nelson himself, says, with only some amount of sarcasm, "send it to the crusher, it'll just rob you blind and break your heart". I don't think Mr. Nelson ever restored an E-Type Jaguar.

Hey Chicane, even though several people have called you an A Hole, I've got my own opinion and I can keep it to myself.

Gosh I go away for a little while and all of a sudden Chicane is up to his usual cr@p. AFAIAC "Chicane", in any language related to this board means A-Hole.

Don't let this guy bother you. He has an overwrought opinion of himself, and apparently never learned to play well with others.

Chicane feeds on other's input, so, unless we can de-list him from the board, I suggest we just totally ignore him. DON'T reply to his posts. Make him invisible.. Then we can watch as he screeches and howls.. but nobody feeds him.

Mother Teresa, you are not.

Most complaints are about the tone. Right off the bat picking up a fight
with Scott Andrews was no small feat. Scott must change? More affable than Scott you are talking Mother Theresa's league.

I don't know if you are seeing this but with every post many of you are just proving my point.

The end I hope.

If all you are interested in is "making a point" then what's the point of making it.

This thread has more than reached it's due date and should peacefully be retired. Everyone interested in having their say has done so.

Enough - go play with your cars - they're probably starting to rust.
