Copart BMW finds...

I would expect a reserve, @dang mentioned that it reached 26k last auction, possibly it didn’t meet reserve or there was a material difference in the description that resulted in the sale being cancelled.

Don't you dare touching my weaker brother!!

Pretty sure the 633csi doesn't have M90 in it. It would be a 635csi if it did.
Correct, no M90, and the manual transmission could be any one of the 3 (4 spd, dogleg, or OD 5 speed if it's a late 79 car). The 5 speed was an option (rare) and if it's an early car you got the dogleg and tall rear end, later 79 cars had the OD 5 speed and a shorter final drive. The diff is a crapshoot too, the LSD was an option but not many were built. The reason being that if you wanted performance you bought the 635 because it had the dogleg 5 speed and the LSD as standard as well as the M90 3.5 engine. If you were trying to pinch pennies you could option the car with the transmission and LSD but not many did that.

CA "Leno Law" will be rolling smog except year to 1985 in the coming years. The '76 2002's just went up in value. Along with some select others..

Not sure how in the US, but in EU, pre-facelift cars are not so desirable as later ones. Probably due to better handling (newer suspension) and more advanced electrical systems/features. Also more spare parts available.

CS became part's donors.

As still some Karmann-made they've rotten because of salt on the roads during winter (similar to E9).

They will probably became valuable at some points due to that... maybe.

Pre-facelift cars are also less desireable here. The newer cars are quieter and more luxurious than the first generation. And the M designation, not used on the earlier cars, makes the later cars instantly more valuable. But as to the handling, the earlier cars are much lighter and the suspensions and brakes are quite good. My 79 Euro 635csi is a blast.

I wish I had a chance to drive all: E9, E24 Gen1, E24 MY1984+ and maybe E31 (840CSi).

That would be quite an interesting experience.

....just found this
He's telling "basically a very good car".
But when it comes to repairs, different story than E9

Ha! The red ones are the fastest!

I have nothing against but I would like to have nice and ready for driving E9 first.

E31 can wait... but I'm also looking for these nice, but extremely difficult in servicing BMW cars. Fortunately for my budget I do not have more space to keep another "project" car. ;) Tools (SUN2013/MoDic and good tech literature might still not be enough to service them. Some service parts for the engines are gone from BMW some time ago.

But never say "never!".
