Per the title, I am going to start the manufacture of Hyper lightweight front and rear bumpers.
You can see the end result here:

The result has been terrific, and they look great.
I am interested in starting production once I post realistic prices for front and rear,
and people express an interest in them.

This week we will start manufacture on one full set that a fellow E9er has commissioned.

Very kindly, he has volunteered for their build, to figure out time and materials required,
then I will be able to post accurate figures and logistics. We have a ballpark figure,
but as anything, it has to be fine tuned.

If you like, this only an announcement, so please wait until the next post.

Stay tuned...

Regards, Alberto

I guess I was already there...:)

The cost is as follows,

Rear Bumper, composed of two bananas and support parts with nut embedded into them.
Back up light openings are sealed, but outline is visible.
Front Bumper, composed of 3 parts, outer, middle, outer, plus all support parts with nuts embedded into them.
Additionally, the alloy legs that mount to chassis.

The front / rear bumpers require to be assembled on car for proper alignment
Install supports, a spot of glass resin and assemble.
After, remove, and finish. 90 % of the work is done for you, assembly required.

The rear has the middle strap included, to be glued also.

The front, at the unions of the 3 parts, requires feathering and more glass resin to smooth out the joint.
My photos show the finished product.

Front Bumper: $375 + shipping
Rear Bumper: $350 + shipping

My wife is traveling to Spain this Saturday and can take some, all, or none, and save freight for someone in EU or UK.
1 complete set available.

Guaranteed to fit unless your nose and tail have been bent, and not repaired well.

Regards,
Alberto

My daughter will be in SFO in November. So shipping is...free, if you pick up in Marin.
Please advise your requirements, as we have to put you in the production line.

If so, I'm in for a set of front and rear
Thanks

Hello James,
Just in time! My wife will take a set to Spain, then will mail from there.

Please send paypal friends and family, $350 + 50 shipping, if more or less,
as they are bulky but weigh nothing,
it will be refunded or added:

alberto.guirola at gmail dot com

This set does not have the holes opened for the license plate light, as too late,
but are clearly marked and very easy to do with a Dremel.

Please confirm, and send me an email with your address to same email as ppal.

Thank you!

Kind regards,
Alberto

Hi Alberto. I see you've figured out that the BMW E9 community aren't the bunch of cheapskates that Alfa Romeo owners are!

Alberto has been producing reproduction parts for Alfa Romeos for some time. From what I've seen, he supplies high-quality parts to satisfied customers.

Hello Jay, good to find you here! It is always a small world, right?

You are spot on, I have been making assorted parts for the Alfa community for quite awhile,
and you are right, everyone is satisfied, as we strive to produce really quality stuff at reasonable prices.

Alfa guys are not cheap, just a bit more careful with $, but when you see the prices GTV's nowadays command,
well, we are in E9 territory. Both cars are absolutely stunning.

The bumpers for the E9 came out fantastic! Almost 70 lbs less between both ends, nice rotational improvement.
Production for this has been complex, as the moulds are many, fortunately easier to pop out than some Alfa stuff!
Have made all sorts of other glass parts for the E9, but that's another story...

Thank you for the kind comments! really appreciate it, now if the Busso / GTV6, crowd would stop running around without
the belt covers, I would be happier...My son took 8 sets to Spain, and he's bringing them all back!

Kind regards,
Alberto

PS, Jay, you would not want some lighter bumpers also :) ?
