I sent you a PM to avoid getting abused for turning this into an E24 side-forum.
Don't see why that would be an issue as we are in off topic. Perhaps a non e3/e9 sub forum would be better as there as many of us on here with other vehicles on the go.
P. S as a member of the younger generation, I do my best to communicate!

Dropped the fuel tank out as it is definitely past it's sell by date... Cleaned the underside up a touch more. In the process of making new fuel and brake lines but sods law my flaring tool has given up the ghost on the last fuel line. Need to sort that before everything else can go in but in the mean time a touch more welding left to go to keep busy. Hopefully this time next week car is back on the ground

Kunifer brake and fuel lines all in. Braided brake hoses and gave the subframe and arms a tart up with some POR 15. New pitman arms, diff mount, trailing arm and subframe bushes. Few bits of paint to touch up under the diff and also clean up round the arb mounts on the body before that gets bolted back on.

A well earned bbq break after getting her back on all 4 wheels after a good while...because nothing beats the taste of a bbq infused with mechanic grease

Yeah, I have gotten spoiled here. Bimmerforums and Big Coupe are pretty low engagement places, particularly when browsing for parts. My Euro 635csi is going to be a slow project.

Big coupe now charges a 25 dollar registration fee which I think is a bit forward of them. I'm happy to donate to any forum, but asking for it as a joining fee is the main reason I've not joined. What happens if you pay and then find out its next to empty?

This forum is one of the few that has survived the increased presence of social media. Always so much information to be found and constantly being added

I had joined a while ago, then found my account locked out. I has thought maybe it was inactivity, but it turns out I hadn't paid the fee. I paid up six months ago when I picked up the barn find 79 Euro 635csi, but wouldn't recommend it to others.

Exhaust repaired and a new tank back on and car running. Most filler work done, hopefully can throw some paint down over the next few days. Won't be mint but usable enough to enjoy for the summer and come next year can have a proper glass out respray

Yes, and we will be here after social media dies :).
I did spend time on the E24 fora but it was high friction and impersonal.
Given the coronation in the UK it is timely to say that this forum feels like royalty...the fact that they still put up with me says it all. Prince Harry was kicked out for less...

Good comment / observation that this forum remains largely unaffected by social media. I think that is down to the type of owner that typically runs one of these cars not being of the social media generation.

Both @Simufly and myself also run an Audi A2 (I think he may have more than one in fact), the forum for those cars is also well run, highly active, brim-full with great advice / "how to" type help and generally very healthy. There are on the other hand many forums for other makes and models I've experienced that are now dead or still there but essentially online ghost ships.

Try looking at newer BMW forums..........mostly anecdotal and comments that are of no help. Also like things anonymous today, people get insulting because they can.

The E24 forum still has a group of people who are very knowledgeable so still a great place to ask a question.

Paint went down last night, for a quick tart up (just to keep me going until time/funds allow for a full respray) this has actually come out lovely

Flatted it down a touch, considering how faded the paint was on there it's really not matched too badly, although I did hit it with some 2000 grit to help remove some of that old oxidised paint.

Fuelled by some plenty of Turkish pizzas made some decent progress this afternoon and finally this is starting to look once again like a car

The car and the lahmacun look great. A Kurdish restaurant around here had an awesome version, with its own distinct name of course.

New WR8DCs, these plugs were installed during it's last major service way back in 1999.
Rear bumper on, also painted up the license plate surround and original dealer plates (lind sticker as it was serviced there from 88-2000, it was originally supplied by Bridgegate, now Stratstone BMW)
Interestingly the bumper, rubbers and all clips etc seem to have been fitted just before it was parked up as it is almost like new with stickers still on, so cleaned up and liberal coatings of bilt hamber UC inside to help with corrosion.
