Pretty bad ass golf cart at that, its lifted, has big burly tires and forged aluminum wheels. It has a very nice paint job done by yours truly in a BMW color. It also has lovely faux burr walnut veneer, diamond plate rockers and skid plate, rear seats that fold out to a flat bed, and 4 cup holders. I think it is pretty cool and lots of fun. Soon it will have a power upgrade so it will go faster and a nice stereo. Let me know if you have a spare Nardi wheel, I can't bring myself to take the one out of my coupe.

OCCoupe, sorry you misread, no attack here.
Nothin' but love for 'yall :D

I didn't think I got personal. Always try to keep my rantings about the topic, NOT the author. If I disagree with said author, well, yeah I may call you out, but it's all in good banter, right?

For the record, if this car ever sells for over, say $60,000, I will write Ron and everyone else a personal apology note for completely misunderstanding the marketplace.

Just opinions, that's all.

I had a post-auction offer over that amount and urged the owner to take it and he declined. I am just trying to do my part in helping him sell the car. Ebay is (as has been mentioned here already) just a marketing tool. I have sold every car (so far anyway) that I have put on ebay for my asking price and none of them has ever met the reserve. I have never looked at ebay as a tool for setting realistic values on any car as there are just too many variables.

Acat2002, I didn't take anything you said as an insult or personally, on the contrary. I may be new to this; but my impression of this forum is that we are here and this forum is here for the good of coupes and their owners/members. What is going on here is not beneficial to anyone, especially the members. I am new to this and I almost didn't join because of the negative vibe that was being passed on by certain members. Fortunately I was embraced by a few members that found one of my posts. They took the time to welcome me with open arms and an eagerness to help me make my coupe dream come true. Thank you to the good ones that make this whole experience worth while including you Acat2002. Yeah, I don't have an exotic to brag about and even if I did I wouldn't mention it as I wouldn't want everyone to feel resentment towards me, envy. I am lucky to be able to drive these fabulous cars whenever I want and if you folks ever come to Orange County I would be happy to invite you to go out in one of these cars with me. I am proud of my toys, no need to be embarassed by my golf cart, the cart is more fun than a whore house full of virgins in the middle of the Sahara, perhaps that is an exageration; but it sure is fun, so is my coupe.

I'll keep posting, I will also try my best to give as much as I take.

Thank you guys!
Mike

Thank you RonP, you just helped with my point. By the way, I would love to see this 3.0 tribute car, can you help arrange this? I am in Costa Mesa and my store is in Newport by JWA/SNA.

Thank you,
Mike

Two Millionth Passenger Vehicle Sold on eBay Motors:

These people seem to be selling cars just fine on eBay, including high priced collectables.....

So I would say eBay is more than ....just a marketing tool.

Most of the marketing tools are in chat rooms and "enthusiast" forums ;-)

For anything expesive, and if you want to meet a world-wide audience, eBay is a free marketing tool. Only someone without good business sense would beg to differ. This particular Ferrari has been there forever:

...or, just go to 1970s cars and sort from highest. Same cars have been there for a long time, looking to sell outside of eBay.

X1000. My entire point. Do not come to an "enthusiast" forum such as this and TELL us what you are going to take for a car, come to an "enthusiast" forum and ASK the "enthusiasts" what they would PAY for said car and create a reasonable starting price point for your vehicle from there. Given the current market conditions the ANY seller MUST be willing to take a hard look at asking price.

First off, those transactions mean nothing. eBay sales "fall through" all the time to avoid fees and a tracable transaction, especially on things as expensive as those you've listed. I would think someone as smart as you would know this...

Secondly, don't quote me and use CAPS to drive your point home. That just makes what you're doing look even more inflammatory.

Next, if I were selling something, I could care less about what anyone that anonymously posts on a forum thinks. I would tell you, and everyone else, what I want for my goods, and if I'm out of line, I re-evaluate the transaction, state OBO, or wait for more sunshine. For that matter, you were just a mere 300% off regarding the valuation of the (as you called it) eBay "bondo-bucket" discussed in another post:

http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4687

Based on this, you are the last person that should be giving advice to sellers.

Lastly, fill in your profile.

First off they have as much validity if not more than that link you provided. I could provide dozens of high dollar sales if you would like. High dollar cars sell all the time on eBay. It's not just a marketing tool...it's a SALES TOOL!

OOPS!

First mistake. A smarter move would be to consult guys who deal with these cars ALL THE TIME, track their prices and get an IDEA of where to begin your sale.

Second mistake. Which is why the car in question went for the price that it did.

That car (bondo-bucket) is a rolling parts car, IMHO. We'll see if it appears again on eBay...soon. I was within $3000 which is more than I can say about the car in question....

You didn't even take the time to look at your second posted link above-- I'm sure that buyer was legit, and that that deal actually happened.

The truly sad thing about your last two posts is that you actually took the time to cut up and quote my statements, and even after all of that work, make yourself look worse than you already did.

...all the while lowering your credibility all that much more.

Bravo.

By the way, fill in your profile.
