Help: Are these cables for the radio?

Hi Guys,

need your help with my restoration. I am looking to install a new radio and sound system in my E9. I bought the car with a missing radio however it had wiring for speakers.

I am not sure what these cables are, but i think they could be for the radio, can anyone confirm?

Looks like the radio feed. Brown is the earth, purple is the switched live, the other is perm live.

Cheers Simufly, I had a feeling it was that. Will try connecting up my new headunit and confirm if it works.

Perhaps a better idea would to put a volt/ohm meter on the relevant calbles first rather than just connecting up an expensive headunit first.
From experience,
1.the switched cable will only support modest current draw so dont go wiring in a unit that requires a large current.
2. The earth again will only support modest currents.
If you are going to wire in a comprehensive audio system you will need to upgrade the whole circuit.
