Did you sew in the old zipper, or did you manage to find a new RUBA one, or something close?

Never tried to sew leather myself, only thick canvass, but yours looks mighty fine.

That is the beauty of doing things yourself; people will only see the attempt that you accept and choose to display.
If it is not good enough, try again until you're happy.

This definitely would pass my judgement!

not the old zipper, broken, not RUBA, something close, yes, maybe

the last trials are leather, yes, but not over a complete unit

so found that in the original boot that I have the leather has been shaved so thickness has been reduced in order to be able to make the bends more easily
