Rob, Why "non AC cars"?

Rob, Why "non AC cars"?

I guess you COULD use one on a AC car. you'll just have to CUT the opening (THE HORROR!) for the single DIN opening.

If you have a repro 3d-printed one, or one already cut out, go for it!

I'll bet those perpendicular "flaps" on the side that makes this a DIN mount are screw on. I had a retrosound, this is just a different faceplate that they (newly) are offering. This is really cool. No guarantees but I would check with them, this should work fine in an air conditioned E9 (my retrosound was in an air conditioned e9).

I have Retrosound in our 71 2800CS with AC. I didn't modify the opening (maybe someone previously did. The faceplates are available seperately. I didn't find the Europa faceplate yet but it probably is available.

It looks like a DIN only mount, there are slots to insert the tool to remove the radio and there is no chassis behind the knobs. Strange they only show one photo.

@HB Chris Retrosound is very modular. They just piece together different solutions. It looks to me that the chassis is the one in the image and the din mount is part of the faceplate which is also (likely) screw on.

Sorry should have just posted this image:

I think I'll get one for the wife's Pagoda and before installing there, try it out on an D9 AC Face plate.

Those lower buttons may just fit nicely in the BMW radio face plate hole w/o hacking.
