Rear Wheel hub removal: Help Needed

For the calipers, I did them myself first, then decided to send them to CaliperHQ. They returned looking beautiful. It’s a nominal expense, but did seem worth it.
Planning to do the same ( gotta keep these sister cars even with one another!!). If you dont mind saying, what did they charge?

I think it was $150 for rear and $175 for front for full strip down, refinish, plating and new seals. I’ve found most of these rebuild places (booster, calipers, speedometer, etc) are a bit lax about actually including any sort of invoice. It’s “send in your item, give us payment info and we will send everything back”. As for proof that I actually had it done…yeah, a bit hard. Even when I’ve asked I only get something half the time. Just fyi.

Per caliper, or for the pair?

those are numbers i have seen as well ... i have a full set of calipers to send in for rebuild and they will be going out next week.

Inner bearing and seal in. Was not without a couple new battle wounds though...blood blister and laceration

Been making good progress, rear end is nearly back together. Was hoping to be onto the transmission and clutch by now, but you all know how these project go. Unexpected setbacks and parts orders can quickly slow things down. Anyhow, here is what is now complete.
* Diff seals and gaskets
* Sub frame - Ireland Eneering poly bushings
* Trailing arm bushings
* Sway Bar bushings
* Center support bearing
* Guibo
* CV boots
* Wheel bearings + seals inner and outer
* Brake lines (pressure/distro unit to calipers)
* Caliper seals/dust covers
* Rotors + pads
* parking brake shoes

Parts list w/ $'s and Vendors. I think the only things missing from the list are wheel bearings+ seals (Rock Auto), and caliper Refresh kit (RM European).

I see you elected not to use the three washers/spacers on each CV under the bolts heads. The new caps have a slightly different shape or ridge to them and I used Porsche washers.

Correct, that's right. The new covers have a bevel to them and the dual bolt washers wouldn't fit. I used what I could find at the local HW store that would fit

Nice, wish I had known about these earlier. Will go into the backlog for now. Ain't disassembling the rear end again any time soon

Yeah good call @ScottAndrews that'll complete the look. A couple parts of this were difficult as you could figure out where I ran into some trouble by reading the thread.

What was most time consuming was the hours and hours of cleaning, paint prep and actually painting. The diff alone was at least 8 hours for all that. It was caked on about half inch worth of gunk.

Paint is far from a professional job but it'll do the trick for now. 1000% improvement from where it started. Chomping at the bit to take the first test drive this upcoming weekend to see how the rear end feels. After I did the front end 3 or 4 months ago, it felt like an entirely different car. This will complete the package.

I am about 8 weeks behind you. Currently visiting family in Texas, but when I get back the first job is tackling the caked on crud on the rear subframe..., and not too far in my future will be the same hub renovation, so I am watching with keen interest!!
