Beautiful, and tempting! I have a new set of European amber lenses that I planned on using, but these are quite nice to look at. :)

If you install the Euro lens on a US car, you will probably have to cut off part of the reflector for the bulb (I had to do this when i installed a set of clear front turn signals with yellow bulbs - I spray the crown of the yellow bulbs with silver paint, so they do not show yellow unless they are lighted).

I also bought the clear lenses and found the reflector was too big. That's why the USA lenses have such a large bulge in them. I also don't like the "fried egg" look when amber 1157A or 1156A bulbs are used behind clear lenses. My 2001 X5 has clear lenses also. I found 1157 and 1156 bulbs that had a chrome finish that was amber when powered up. But they were not very bright. Then I found Sylvania Silverstar 1157A ST that has a chrome/blue look and are bright amber when lit up. They look very nice behind those clear lenses. Now, where can I find or modify my old reflectors since the bright finish is not very bright anymore.

Drew,

Buy some chrome or bright aluminum adhesive tape. Cut a piece the size of the reflector and stick it on. Works on both the front turn signals and the rear brake/stop/backup light reflectors.

There is gentleman named Andy, [email protected] (I think..) that has posted here and on the 02 faq; he does retro fits/upgrades for old tailights (i.e. mobrighta...), and this could be something he could help with... Try the search on our site...
