Loving this wheel. I had my wood pieces done to match.

The latest addition. 38cm ati, completely original with the leather and stitching in great condition with the correct 522 hub. I've also got the horn pad, just not in the photo

Very nice! I was searching quite a while to find a nice original one.

I just obtained this very nice unrestored Ati3 (in the middle) to add to the collection haha
the other two have been recovered recently and I have matching original 522 hubs for all of them.

I plan to sell the left one (hub included) if anyone is interested, shoot me a message :)
It's an Ati3 380mm Italvolanti wheel with matching 522 hub. Its not perfect, there are marks on the aluminium and the horn buttons are 3d printed and not functional. (i have one broken original button i can include). It's been re-trimmed and the quality is very nice, but the leather has a little more grain than original. It feels very nice in the hand though.

Very nice! These are great wheels, significant and largely passed over in favor of Petri wheels. They aren't as "classy" but they surely have a legit slant to the coupe's racing heritage. The aluminum matches the trim on the dash and console perfectly and they look cool. The first generation have "Italvolanti" in cursive and have thicker white stitching on the back of the spoke padding. Love the posts! Show your Italvolantis!

Wanted to share with you guys something little bit different, that is currently in my collection.
20221209_131751.jpg

Pretty rare i think 70's leather Interspeed 355mm with custom hub for 2002, pretty cool & rare leather wheel, only in Interspeed leather on spokes bolted on 3 bolts from behind on each of the spokes, unique custom huge metal horn button. Some people call that wheels "Petri Interspeed" as large horn buttons where made by Petri.

70's leather Victor Patek 350mm for 2002, i call it "little CSL Momo Prototipo", take a closer look - shape of the spokes is the same, horn button case is different but emblem also almost the same as momo, funny thing the hub is the same as momo 152 or 153 (same length, same diameter, same shape, just different bolt spacing).

70's leather flat Ranieri Nurburgring 355mm with long custom hub for e9, very cool looking white stitching with unique pattern & beautiful chromed metal horn button.

NM/NA but I thought you all may be interested in this, it is certanily a very intriguing steering wheel. Sounds like they drilled holes in an original Momo 308 style steering wheel to make it look like a Ferrari Dino 246 steering wheel, but it also closely resembles that little wheel some of you may be interested in owning a CSL Momo Alpina wheel. Of course it doesn't say Alpina on it, and I am not sure how I feel about someone other than the factory drilling holes in steering wheel, but check it out!

They made this holes little bit assymetrical, for that asking price for bare steering wheel i think it's unacceptable.

My Indy wheel is quite simple and understated. It arrived with the car beat to hell. I sent it to a man named Chris Skow in Texas at Bert P's recommendation. For $180 he padded and recovered my wheel, I got the choice of stitching, thickness etc. I am quite content with the outcome.

My 3rd and final wheel is a Momo that has the holes custom drilled in the spokes. The Mahogany rim was custom covered in black leather by Alan Gunn very close to me in South Florida. I picked out the leather and had a thin layer of foam put under it to make the rim diameter very comfortable for long drives and fast curves.

Pictures are of my 380mm pre-Momo Monza wheel. It has the earliest known "Hand Made In Italy" engraving, and and 12707 patent code. It was most likely produced in 1964, prior to Momo's 1966 incorporation. Very few black wheels like this are around, and I have never in my life seen a pre-momo, or even stacked momo with original cardinal red leather. I can only assume that it was a one-off custom Moretti creation for a Porsche or Ferrari owner. Whoever owned it certainly pampered their car. Save for some patina/dirt at 10 & 2, the Monza is damn near NOS!

I've read the expert collectors refer to these very early wheels as "rarest on the planet", or "holy grail" wheels. If I keep this wheel, I can't paint my car Colorado Orange. :D

More pics and price over here:

I was able to acquire an earliest version of BMW CSL Motorsport 375mm Italvolanti Ati-3 2202344 with 522 long hub & Motorsport center pad, whole set is NOS.
Steering wheel untouched, already had this old thread in between mounting holes when i received it, no signs of bolts, horn buttons have no signs of nails scratches etc., just very little surface traces of couple decades storage on the leather grip, same with the center pad & the hub.

Very nice! There was a guy on kleinanzeigen about four years ago that 10 or so of thes NIB. He wanted about $1K each which I thought was too much. Now a nice used one is about that price.

What a lovely wheel! I am pleased to say that now, I am the next caretaker :) :) :)
Not to mention the fact that it looks even better in real life...
Good show Mark!
