Hi Folks,

I just picked up a set of NOS “raised” c-pillar roundels. I feel safe letting go of my spar cloisonné roundels. As others have pointed out, the new ones which cost $70 each don’t fit well.

Below are the emblems for sale. One has been sanded to clean up the face. Both will be sanded and polished before sale. I can snap more pics once that is done.

If you want roundels because yours look poor, consider the before/after below. You may want to check back to see what refinished roundels look like.

Chrome backing plates not included...

I ordered from Rogers-should be there when I arrive home tonight. I will let you know if they are good.

that looks much better than most that i've seen. the centerline dimension on mine is approx. 48mm and the posts are 4mm. here is a pic of a spare that i have ... so the blue of the new one looks more purple

the one in my picture is from a 1970 - 2800cs ... its very blue. are you saying these were very purple / violet ... or the ones BMW was selling a few years ago?

The replacement ones had a purple tinge to them and the posts weren’t spaced correctly. I believe it was Gransin that had a hell of a time with his new ones.

I got my raised roundels today. I’ll measure those also. They are flimsy compared to the enamel versions.

I’m getting about 49mm on the raised roundels. My enamel roundels have threaded posts, closer to 3mm thick. The raised roundels have smooth posts closer to 4mm.

The raised roundels are novel but the enamel ones look much nicer IMO.

Scott, the purple ones were the more recent ones, last ten years maybe. And they chipped or cracked when installed due to post spacing.

Markos,
I recently ordered a set from BMW dealership. The one on the right is new from the dealer. The left one is in very good shape from my 71 2800 CS .. I just wanted to order them since I thought they were not available , and the parts guy told me they have to come from Germany.
However the new ones I received does not have nowhere close as raised lines as yours in the picture and the stems are shorter and bent toward the inside a bit on both new ones I received.
To my disappointment they :(showed “made in china”!!!!!! On the box

They don’t make the raised letter ones anymore. I think they were only used for a short time on ‘74’s. Probably another cost saving tactic.

that wasn't my question. my question is - does the new roundel fit in the old base - like the original does.
i get that they don't have the raised letter ones ... good for me as i like the old ones.
