I'm going rain or shine.
My coupe is meant to be driven not hiding in a garage.
Leaving noon Thursday with a small caravan to Asheville from Norcross, GA.
Back roads up through the North Georgia mountains into NC.
A beautiful drive with only 20 miles of expressway.

Gary
See ya Thursday. Just shoot me a text if anything changes.

Sadly, my e9 will not be attending...I'll either be in my 2002 if a few things come together, if not I'll be there with some parts to "de-accession" in the white Volvo wagon Friday PM in the Clarion lot, and will meet/greet Sat in the trees. Look forward to putting names with masked faces ;)

As the event gets closer, the weather forecast seems to be getting worse and worse. Full disclosure, I’ve NEVER driven ( or considered driving) my coupe in the rain in the 12 years I’ve owned it. If you are attending, how are you approaching the weather? I’d really like to get over my hesitation if it makes sense in moderation for a fun event like the Vintage.
I usually cover the bases of my side windows with wide blue painter's tape. Helps some with falling rain; not so much with rain coming up while driving.

Have fun, I went in 2017 and other than a huge downpour coming back from the Foundation we had an awesome time. I’m just never going to ship my coupe across the country again.
I’m sure it’s costly and danger as to its handling by the shippers.

Two cars were shipped in an enclosed trailer but the hauler we eventually learned had taken advantage of others, our cost was $3500 each I think. The upside was that my friend Rey couldn’t attend so I ‘had’ to drive his e24 B10 Alpina and my wife drove the coupe, not too shabby.

Your forum name should also be on your "vintage" tag so we all know and can say hello. I will also be old-car less...
How about both, forum name and real name.
m5bb, Gary Beck Avus Blau 72 3.0CS. like my signature photo, in fact that's me.

Look for me, I may wear my lederhosen and have a hat on.
